What do I need to use iWall?
- A computer running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
- A connection to the Internet.
- A secondary display or projector configured as extended desktop.
- A Telegram bot if you want to receive messages and pictures via Telegram.
- A Fastmail standard account if you want to receive emails.
- A Twilio SMS enabled phone number if you want to receive SMS text messages.
- A Multitech MTD-H5-2.0 modem for receiving
SMS if Twilio mobile numbers are not available for your country. You can buy one at
Digikey
or at Arrow.
How to setup the Extended Desktop
iWall needs two displays to work, one to show the management window and another one to show
the approved messages. Make sure your PC has dual-display support and follow these steps to
enable the extended desktop:
- Connect the video projector or LCD screen to the secondary display port of your PC.
- Turn on your PC.
- When the Windows desktop appears, press Windows Key + P.
- A pop-up menu will be shown. Choose Extend from that menu.
- Now you should be able to move the mouse pointer between both displays.
- Start iWall, drag the display window to the secondary display, and double-click or press F11 inside it to enable full-screen mode.
How to receive SMS text messages with Twilio
iWall can use a
Twilio SMS-enabled number to receive and send
SMS text messages. To use a Twilio virtual number with iWall, follow these steps:
- Create an account on Twilio or
login if you already have one.
- Go to the phone number
search page on Twilio and find an available number by selecting your country,
checking the SMS box, and clicking on the Search button.
- Buy a number from the list of available numbers by clicking on the Buy button
at the right of the number you want.
- Go to the Twilio account settings
page and look for the Account SID and Auth Token in the LIVE Credentials section.
You will need to copy and paste these items into the Twilio section of the Settings
tab of iWall.
- A few seconds after you enter your Twilio credentials on iWall, it will connect to the Twilio
server and the Twilio status icon at the bottom of the window will turn on. iWall is now ready
to receive SMS text messages sent to your Twilio number.

Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary,

How to receive messages and pictures via Telegram
iWall can use a Telegram Bot to receive messages
and pictures from any of the Telegram supported platforms. To enable
the Telegram connection, you will need to create a bot and obtain its access token.
Follow these steps to do that:
- You will need a Telegram account to be able to create a bot, so if you don't already have one, please install the Telegram application and create an account.
- Launch the Telegram application. In the contact list of the application, search for the user @BotFather and start a chat with it.
- Send the command /newbot to create a new Telegram bot.
- @BotFather will ask you for the display name and the username for the new bot. Reply to both questions and make sure the username ends with 'bot'.
- After that, a new bot will be created and the access token for it will be shown. Copy this access token and paste it into the Bot access token in the Telegram section of the Settings tab of iWall. The connection to Telegram will be ready a few seconds after that.
NOTE: If you have already created a Telegram bot, get the access token for it using the /token
command when chatting with @BotFather instead of creating
a new bot with the /newbot command.
